Enriching lives across the globe, note by note ♫

Volunteer with MTWOB

MTWOB is looking for passionate, adventurous individuals who want to use music and the arts to enrich lives across the globe. We are always looking for people who are interested in international work and spreading the field of music therapy to become part of our team in whatever ways they are able. Check out our upcoming projects and sign up for our newsletter for insider info!

MTWOB for Students

Are you a music therapy student looking to accelerate your growth?

Our volunteer projects for students offer an exciting opportunity to practice your clinical skills and gain experience with multicultural populations. This is an intensive practicum experience, and our volunteers report profound growth in a short amount of time, as well as increased confidence in their clinical skills.

MTWOB for Professionals

Are you a professional music therapist hoping to expand your reach?

Our volunteer projects for professionals give you a chance to share your knowledge & experience and make an impact on individuals and communities around the world while also increasing your own intercultural skills. Our volunteers report profound clinical, professional, and personal growth, and appreciate the opportunity to make meaningful, lasting connections with other music therapy professionals.

MTWOB for Universities

Are you a music therapy professor or program director at a university that values service and multicultural training?

We would be happy to organize a custom project specifically for your university or student group, tailoring the trip to fit your academic, clinical, and scheduling needs. Please contact us for more details!

MTWOB for Singers & Choruses

Are you a choral singer or chorus director who wants to engage in meaningful interactions with local populations on your next tour?

We can design appropriate, enriching community engagement opportunities for your touring chorus on its next international tour. We have worked with choruses to organize music-based outreach activities in hospitals, at dementia care centers, in prisons, and at senior homes, and we can work with you to create an individually tailored volunteer experience.

Donate

There are many costs associated with international service work, from housing and airfare to food and transportation to buying supplies and making donations to local communities. We welcome your unrestricted gift as a way to offset those costs and help us offer our trips at the lowest rates possible for our volunteers. If you want to sponsor a specific volunteer to participate in one of our service projects, please contact us. We also welcome sponsorship and in-kind gifts from organizations or companies that can help reduce our costs, whether it be by donating supplies or offering reduced price airfare or accommodations. We proudly acknowledge and advertise any such sponsorship, and will display your logo prominently on our project materials and media appearances.

“[This project] was a challenging, encouraging, and rewarding experience for myself as a professional.

I would encourage anyone who is interested in growing in self-awareness to

take a leap of faith and sign up for the next service trip!”

“TAYA 2017 was a fantastic experience and a great introduction to the idea of global music therapy.

We were able to address the needs of the community and have a fabulous time in the process of our work.

Invite me again, please!”

“What an incredible week!

Julianne was a gracious host that taught us how to lead in a special needs summer camp,

all while showing us the best of Cayman!”

“A wonderful experience connecting with kids while testing your own creative energies.”
